On July 9, the second SIPO-USPTO automation expert group meeting was held in Beijing. Deputy Director of State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Yang Tiejun and Director of the Patent Office of United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Mr. John Doll participated in the meeting.

Yang Tiejun briefed the patent application, patent review and information technology in SIPO, and recalled the progress made in bilateral cooperation. He pointed out that the automation expert group meeting will deepen the mutual understanding.

He also expressed the wish to further strengthen cooperation with USPTO in information technology and provide more reliable public services.

Mr. John Doll expressed appreciation for the achievements of SIPO, especially in shortening the review cycle, staff recruitment and information construction. He also introduced the recent development of USPTO as well as plan for future international cooperation.
