We are living in a brand new era that enjoys all the blessings of modern science and technology. It is indeed unprecedented before. However, numerous disasters also occur. When I walk on the street, I see all the waste given out by restaurants and factories. When I surf on the internet, I become aware that 40 different species of animals are becoming extinct every year. When I read newspapers, I am terrified to know that all kinds of conflicts are constantly happening all around the earth.
To save the world, I believe is to promote harmony between humans and the environment, among humans and other species and most importantly among people themselves.
To promote harmony between humans and the environment, efficient using of energy and effective recycling system will be of great help. An inspiring piece of news is that staff from 17 universities all over China is making joint effort to develop the first car using solar power which is quite an environmental friendly source of energy.
To promote harmony between humans and other species calls for more attention to animal protection. Laws and regulations to stop illegal hunting should be reinforced, just as what the Chinese government has done concerning the issue of Tibetan antelopes.
Last but not the least, harmony between people should be emphasized. Encouraging communication and promoting understanding is what the United Nations has always been fighting for since the establishment of it back in 1945.
Harmony, the unchanged melody of all human beings, is also the strategy for saving the whole world. As long as we struggle to promote harmony on the earth, a brighter future and a better world will not be far away.
