NATO supply terminal attacked in NW Pakistan, eight containers burnt

ISLAMABAD, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The supply terminal of Afghanistan-based North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces was attacked and eight containers were torched in northwestern Pakistan Wednesday morning, local TV channels reported.
Unknown armed militants launched rocket attack on the NATO supply terminal located on ring road in Peshawar, capital city of North West Frontier Province, private Geo TV channel reported.
Fire broke out following the attack and fire tenders were dispatched to the terminal. The terminal was also damaged in the attack while the attackers fled, reports said.
Part of the supplies of NATO and allied forces based in Afghanistan is transported through Pakistan. The terminals in Peshawar where the NATO supply trucks and containers were parked were attacked by militants frequently at the end of last year.
