Ceremonies to commemorate 5.12 quake

Special Report: One Year after 5.12 QuakePeople across the Chinese mainland have held ceremonies in the last few days to commemorate victims of the Sichuan earthquake. Students from affected areas have also received aid packages from all over the country.

In the playground of Xinhua school in Shangqiu, in central China's Henan province, 512 students lit candles, to remember the victims.
Also in Chaohu city, in east China's Anhui province, students have released 512 lanterns in the sky, and wished that those who died will rest in peace.
On Monday, an exhibition of pictures drawn by students during art therapy sessions in Dujiangyan, one of the areas badly hit areas by the May 12 earthquake, showed the devastation.
A visiting Shanghai student said, "We should remember that day, but we must also try to move on."
