LONDON, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair exchanged views on the current international economic and financial crisis during a meeting held here Tuesday.
Wang said China has adopted a series of policy measures to deal with the impact of the crisis and that those measures have begun to pay off.
He noted that after 30 years of reform and opening-up, China has improved its laws and regulations, pushed forward innovations in the economic system and improved the investment environment.
He said that the Chinese government will continue to step up reform and opening-up, and create favorable conditions for foreign companies to invest and carry out collaborations in China. The government also will encourage Chinese companies to go overseas.
Wang said the Chinese government would like to enhance cooperation in the sectors of energy conservation and environmental protection and in the use of clean and renewable energy.
