WELLINGTON, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Two TV production companies in China and New Zealand struck a deal on Tuesday to co-produce a major international drama series called "Gold Rush Revelation."
Qi Lin, president of the Beijing Yechen Movie and TV Cultural Development Company and Dave Gibson, Company Director of Wellington Film and TV production company Gibson Group, signed the agreement in Wellington on Tuesday.
"Lin's passion for the topic was driven by his realization that present-day Chinese migrants and international students were like a contemporary 'Gold Rush' as they came to New Zealand with hopes of a better life," said Gibson.
Beijing Yechen Movie and TV Cultural Development Company focuses on movie and TV development, production, publishing and marketing.
Gibson Group has co-produced major television drama series and feature films with partners based in Canada, Britain, Australia and Sweden.
Gold Rush Revelation is a drama that interweaves the lives of the first generation of the Chinese migrants in New Zealand with the lives of their descendants living in contemporary New Zealand a century later. The series is planned to last up to 26 hours.
