NATO-led military exercises underway

A series of NATO military exercises are now underway, involving representatives of 14 NATO member and partner countries.

The war games are divided into two parts -- command and staffing procedures, and field exercises. They will be held at the Vaziani military base and will run until June the third.

Georgian Vice Prime Minister George Baramidze says the project will help modernize the country's army. A NATO spokesman says the training will provide vital preparation for future real life missions in NATO or UN-led operations.
