So far, the A/H1N1 virus has been found in 29 countries and regions across the globe, with more than 4500 confirmed cases. That figure has increased by almost 1000 in a day.

Mexico has reported 1,626 confirmed cases, and 48 people have died there. Confirmed infections in the United States have risen to 2,532, while the reported deaths remain at three.

In Canada, the number of confirmed infections has risen to 284. And one person has died. Costa Rica has also confirmed one fatality, bringing the number of countries that have reported human deaths caused by the virus to four.
