SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, May 9 (Xinhua) -- A 53-year-old man infected with influenza A/H1N1 died on Saturday in the capital of Costa Rica, making it the fourth country to report a death from the novel flu after Mexico, United States and Canada.

The man, who also suffered from other diseases, had been in hospital over a week, said the Health Ministry, which also reported eight other confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu in the Central American nation.
