Mexican minister stresses vigilance against A/H1N1 flu

Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 fluMEXICO CITY, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Mexican Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos stressed on Wednesday the importance to keep vigilance against the A/H1N1 flu although the epidemic is waning.
The minister also said at a press conference that it will take many weeks to eradicate the new flu although the country can declare that the epidemic is under control if no new cases are reported in 15 days.
He said the virus has killed 42 people in Mexico and the number of infected cases has reached 1,070.
Meanwhile, Mexico City Health Secretary Armando Ahued said on Wednesday it was the sixth consecutive day without new hospitalizations.
