US President Obama meets Afghan, Pakistani leaders

US President Barack Obama says meetings with the leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan have been "extraordinarily productive".
He says the three nations are finding new ways to cooperate on security issues and improve the lives of Pakistanis and Afghans.

Obama met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari at the White House on Wednesday.
The Obama administration is hoping the three governments will work together to stabilize Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Obama said the meeting reflected the concrete cooperation and detail that will improve stability in the region.
He also said Karzai and Zardari reaffirmed the commitments of their nations to more aggressively fighting Taliban and al-Qaida militants sowing violence in their countries. Trilateral talks are scheduled to continue on Thursday with other US officials.
