The North Atlantic Treaty Organization says Somali pirates have hijacked a cargo ship. Saturday's night attack took place northwest of the Seychelles, hundreds of kilometers off the Somali coast.
The crew members are all believed to be Ukrainian, but the ship's managers have not given the number of people onboard. The ship is owned by Greece but managed by Britain.
The hijacking came hours after a Portuguese warship seized explosives from suspected Somali pirates, after thwarting an attack on a Norwegian-owned oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden.
