Hundreds of Palestinians clashed with Israeli security  forces across the West Bank in weekly anti-barrier  demonstrations.

An Israeli Army spokesman says that on Friday, demonstrators and rioters confronted Israeli soldiers in three West Bank towns. At least five people were arrested and one policeman was slightly wounded.

In one village, hundreds of demonstrators marched on a barrier construction site. According to a World Court ruling in 2004, Israel's barricade is illegal.

On the same day, Israeli aircraft destroyed four smuggling tunnels under the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt in the first Israeli air strike in almost two months. No casualties were reported. The attack was launched after Islamist militants fired a rocket into Israel from the Gaza Strip on Thursday.
