China agriculture authorities step up influenza A/H1N1 prevention efforts

Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 fluBEIJING, May 1 (Xinhua) -- China's Minister of Agriculture Sun Zhengcai said here Friday that the country's agricultural authorities were striving to take various precautious measures to prevent the spreading of influenza A/H1N1.
Sun said there was no evidence up to date that the patients overseas got influenza A/H1N1, previously known as "swine flu", by eating pork or in contact with swine.
The ministry has organized an emergency preparation team for influenza A/H1N1, consisting of animal disease control and prevention governmental agencies and experts.
The ministry has urged its local branches to strengthen efforts on the storage and management of emergency materials for influenzaA/H1N1 prevention and control.
