Afghanistan, Germany hold talks

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has arrived in the Afghan capital Kabul for a two-day visit.

Steinmeier met Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta on Wednesday. He is also expected to meet the country's Interior Minister and international representatives.

Steinmeier is travelling with his special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Bernd Muetzelburg. Germany has more than 3,700 troops in Afghanistan serving in the relatively peaceful north.
