China offers $5 million in aid to Mexico in wake of swine flu

BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhua) -- China will offer humanitarian aid worth five million U.S. dollars to Mexico, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The emergency humanitarian assistance comes in the wake of the epidemic of swine flu, and includes one million U.S. dollars in cash and material aid worth four million U.S. dollars, the ministry said.

The probable death toll from swine flu in Mexico rose to 159, the Mexican Health Ministry said late Tuesday.
