More than one hundred works of art are on display as part of commemorative celebrations hosted by the Beijing Memorial Hall of New Culture Movement. The paintings and calligraphy reflect not only the May 4th Movement's pioneers, but also great achievements under the spirit of the May 4th Movement since China's reform and opening up.
The May 4th Movement that targeted against imperialism and feudalism broke out 90 years ago and upheld such ideals as patriotism, progress, democracy and science. The exhibition will greatly promote these ideals, said Zhang Bai, vice director for the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, during the opening ceremony.
