Traditional Chinese dresses worn for Graduation pictures

Though Chinese graduates have got accustomed to wearing western-style academic-gowns on graduation day for many years, they still have a dream of wearing traditional Chinese dresses to receive their degrees.

This year, the graduates in the School of Journalism and Communication, Guangzhou University, took the lead in dressing in traditional garments in taking graduation pictures on the day of their graduation, Guangzhou Daily reports on Monday.

Girls wearing beautiful Cheongsam, or Qipao, and boys wearing handsome Tang suit attracted lots of attention when they posed for graduation pictures.

They told the local newspaper that they not only wore western-style gowns for photo sessions, but also wore Chinese-style dresses in order to leave them better memories on campus, as Cheongsam and Tang suit have been a symbol of their identity as Chinese.

These graduates also sent a Tang suit to their teacher, hoping to share with him their happiness.
