Especially during holidays, air tickets for cross-strait flights sell like hot cakes. Industry insiders from the two sides are calling for an increased number of flights.
The direct sea links have also pushed up passenger volume and cargo transportation. Kaohsiung Port in Taiwan alone has seen its cargo handling capacity increase nearly 5 times over three months.
And direct postal services have also started between the mainland and Taiwan. So far, 37-thousand postal outlets in the mainland and 13-hundred outlets in Taiwan are offering the services.
