The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has held a national meeting to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Army. The chief of the Army General Staff, Ri Yong Ho, presided over Friday's meeting.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has held a national meeting to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Army.

He said the army has grown into a powerful revolutionary armed force with modern offensive and defensive capability since its founding on April 25, 1932.

He said the DPRK will strengthen its war deterrent and take stronger counter-measures as the US and South Korea are continuing hostile policies. He warned the army will respond fearlessly if the US and South Korea dare to attack the DPRK.
