NATO airstrike hits Afghanistan

There are conflicting reports after a NATO airstrike in a mountainous region of eastern Afghanistan.

Afghan villagers say the airstrike killed 6 civilians, including a woman and a young girl, but NATO says four to eight militants were killed.

Civilian deaths caused by US or NATO forces have long been a sore point for Afghan President Hamid Karzai. He has pleaded with international forces to reduce the number of innocent Afghans killed in operations.
