Japan has voiced concerns over the unrest in Thailand and expressed hope that the situation is resolved peacefully.

Takeo Kawamura, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary said "The demonstration in Thailand is continuing and the situation worsened as the state of emergency was ordered. Japan hopes that the situation will be resolved peacefully. The Japanese government will do its best to secure the Japanese residents there."
