The National Bureau of Statistics of China says the country's business climate index dropped 1.4 to 105.6 in the first quarter, a much slower rate of decrease compared to the fourth quarter of 2008.

The Bureau says the index for information technology and software industries enjoyed the highest mark. The index for industrial sector also rose from 98.5 to 99.8. The recovery of the business climate helps to raise entrepreneurs' confidence. The entrepreneur confidence index rose 6.5 points from three months ago to 101.1 in the first quarter. Experts say economic indicators like these have shown signs of recovery of the Chinese economy.
