Thai anti-government protest continues

Anti-government protesters in Thailand have paralyzed traffic in parts of the country's capital Bangkok.

They are threatening to shift their rally to this weekend's ASEAN summit in Pattaya.

More than one hundred taxi drivers sympathetic to the movement left their vehicles blocking one of Bangkok's main traffic circles.

The protesters are demanding Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva resign along with Prem Tin-sulan-onda, the top adviser to the country's revered king.

The protesters are supporters of exiled former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. They accuse the king's adviser of supporting the 2006 military coup.

Protest leaders say they are debating whether to travel 145 kilometers from the capital to Pattaya, to put more pressure on Abhisit to step down.

Abhisit says he will not bow to protesters' demands for his resignation and his stance remains the same.

Abhisit Vejjajiva, Thai Prime Minister, said, "Like I said, this isn't a game, it's not a joke. If you're sincere about the democratic system then let's work together."
