European stocks have soared as stronger-than-expected US economic figures boosted confidence that the world's largest economy is on the mend.
In Thursday afternoon trading, Britain's FTSE 100 rose over 3 and a half percent. Germany's DAX surged 4.4 percent and France's CAC 40 was up 3.6 percent.

Some investors are enthusiastic about reports that the G20 summit has agreed to financial regulatory changes and increased funding for the International Monetary Fund.
Meanwhile, the European Central Bank lowered its benchmark interest rate by a quarter percentage point.
The move aims to alleviate the economic downturn plaguing the 16 countries that use the euro.
