The pavilion may look brand new and futuristic in this picture, but it was actually once part of the 144-year-old Jiangnan Shipyard.
The 5,000-square-meter pavilion is one of the biggest corporate pavilions at the Expo site. A former factory house will be renovated to create the pavilion and most of the building's original steel structure will be retained. "
Gu Wei, senior engineer of China Ship Building Engineering Co., said, "The factory building is 33 meters tall, and looks really grand. Visitors will get a look at future ships in the old factory. I believe visitors will feel the value of history and urban life at the same time. That's also the best way to remember the old Jiangnan Shipyard. "
