The railway ministry is updating the country's train schedules after two new high-speed rail services were launched on Wednesday.

The opening of the high-speed railway between  Wuhan and Hefei slashes a nearly 8 hour trip to less than 2 hours, and speeds up travel between central and eastern China.

From Wednesday, people in central China no longer need to spend a whole day or even longer to reach the Yangtze River Delta economic hub.
