The European Business Summit is a gathering of business, political and financial leaders.
The first summit took place in 2000. From 2006, it has become an annual event in Brussels with various plenary sessions and workshops aiming to boost business in Europe.

This year, the EBS meets at a time of sharp divisions over how to combat the global financial crisis.
GDP contracted sharply in the European Union in the last quarter of 2008, falling for the third quarter in a row.
It was down by 1.5 percent in the euro zone the biggest drop since the zone was created in 1999.
It hopes the summit will help boost confidence and increase coordination on economic stimulus policies.
