400-day countdown to Shanghai World Expo

Shanghai will begin the 400-day countdown to the 2010 World Expo on Friday.

Singapore's hall, which covers some 3-thousand square  meters, will boast a huge roof-top garden.

A 5-meter-tall clock in the downtown area is helping tick away the seconds to the event. Designers say the clock's huge gear wheels symbolize industrialization and the momentum of urbanization in China and the rest of the world.

Billboards and posters promoting the Expo have become part of the city's metropolitan landscape.
