Madagascar mutineers "move tanks"

An army faction that says it will no longer obey Madagascar's leader... has now announced that it has taken control of army tanks. But it denied rumors that it plans to attack the presidential palace.

A spokesman for the group said an unspecified number of tanks were moved overnight to barracks where, according to him, they are needed.

The troops have broken away from the traditionally neutral security forces. They say they want to bring order to the country.
