China´s top legislature slams EU Parliament for Tibet resolution

In Beijing, China's top legislative body -- the National People's Congress -- has expressed strong indignation and opposition to a European Parliament resolution on Tibet.

The NPC Foreign Affairs Committee released a statement on Friday condemning the resolution. The statement says the European Parliament's resolution intervenes in China's internal affairs. It also damages Sino-European relations and hurts the Chinese people's feelings.

The statement says the resolution distorts the facts and encourages the Dalai Lama's separatist practice attempting to internationalize Tibet-related issues.
