British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is calling for a special international fund to be established to help poorer countries through the recession.
Brown insists it's essential the developing world is not forgotten during the downturn. He says it should be regarded as central in efforts to restore global economic growth.

Brown's ambitious "global new deal" will be presented to the London Summit of the G20 he will chair next month. His proposal includes a new fund to get cash flows to developing countries - either investment, aid funding, or money sent home by family members.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said, "I want new measures that will be directed to help the very poorest, helping to keep girls in school, helping to keep food on the table, to keep poverty from the door so that when growth returns these people are in a position to contribute to their economy in a way they want to do once more. It this global new deal begins at the London summit it must be one that continues to form the basis of our international help for years to come
