AU to send delegation to UN

The African Union has decided to send a high-level delegation to press the U.N. Security Council to delay the ICC arrest warrant.

In Ethiopia on Thursday, the AU said delaying the indictment for one year would give the peace process in Darfur a chance.

It said it would renew a request to stop the process. The International Criminal Court has indicted President Omar Hassan al-Bashir on seven counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur.
