At this year's East China Fair, exhibitors have mostly put their latest designs on display. They have high hopes for the trade fair, where some of them get up to 90% of their overseas orders. Business has been hard this year, so doing well at the fair is extra important.
Xu Yangming, general manager of Hangzhuo Huasheng Textiles Co., said, "We expect to sign deals worth 700,000 to 800,000 dollars at this year's event. In years with a good economy, that number could be around one to one and a half million dollars. "
Despite slacking demand, some deals have already been reached during the one and a half days since the fair's opening.
Jack Siegel, Procurement officer of All State Linen, said, "I usually come down here to get my knowledge to find out what the companies are doing and what new designs are, the price changes, so far and so forth. I found some nice designs that might work. If you shop well, you could find some good deals. "
