BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at all levels should make economic development the focus of their work, Qiushi Journal, the country's party magazine, said in a commentary published on Sunday.
To maintain a stable and fast economic growth is an urgent task of implementing the goal of Scientific Outlook on Development, said the commentary, run by the Central Committee of the CPC.
The financial crisis is an important test to the administrative capacity of the CPC, and party members must work to minimize the losses caused by international economic downturns, according the article.
The Scientific Outlook on Development was recommended as a theoretical weapon against the slowdown in the country's economic growth, as it advocated innovative, energy-saving and environmental friendly model for economic development.
Party officials at all levels are called to pay special attention to people's livelihood at a time when China faces economic challenges, and make improvements in aspects such as employment, education, health care, housing and social security system.
