CAIRO, March 1 (Xinhua) -- A senior Sudanese diplomat reiterated here Sunday his rejection to the accusation against Sudanese President Omer al-Bashir by the International Criminal Courts (ICC).
Abdel-Moneim Mabrouk, Sudanese ambassador to Egypt and the Cairo-based Arab League (AL), made the remarks at a meeting of the AL Council at the level of permanent delegates.
Sudan rejects and condemns the ICC plan, one of the circles against Sudan, aims to detain a head of state, said Mabrouk.
Mabrouk's remarks came days before a possible ICC move to issue on March 4 the decision on the request of arrest warrant for President al-Bashir.
According to some western media, the ICC judges in fact already came to a decision to issue an arrest warrant against the Sudanese president on charges of so-claimed genocide and war crimes. But the report has been denied by the ICC.
During the AL Council meeting, which was held in preparation for an Arab foreign ministers' meeting scheduled for March 3, the Arab permanent delegates also discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the Palestinian issue.
