Tibetans to spend traditional new year in fresh ways

Gesang, who was buying plane tickets at a booking office in Lhasa, said he will fly to the tropical island province of Hainan to spend a different new year with his family.

"Now that the transport service becomes more convenient, you can go anywhere you want by railway or plane. Moreover, tickets are not so expensive. So I have decided to take my family to Hainan to relax by the sea and spend a different Tibetan New Year."

Babian Zhaxi chose to drive his own car to travel around Tibet. He will travel along with his family to enjoy Tibet's grand natural landscapes. "You won't be able to enjoy the nature by just staying at home," he said.
