Pakistan seeks more proof of Mumbai links

India has agreed to respond to questions from Pakistan seeking new evidence of Pakistani links to the Mumbai terror attacks last November.

Pakistan put a series of questions to New Delhi earlier this month, seeking additional evidence linking elements in Pakistan to the Mumbai attacks.

In response, Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee said India will reply to any requests from Pakistan as and when necessary.

Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee said,"So far the composite dialogue is concerned, it is paused, and we expect Pakistan to do more in respect of dismantling the terror infrastructure and also to bring the perpetrators of terror attacks to justice. The process is on. We have received their response, we are going to send our response today."

Tensions have been running high between India and Pakistan after the attacks, which killed at least 173 people and wounded over 308.

Pakistan initially denied the attacks were linked to its territory.

But India maintains the plot was hatched in Pakistan, and handed over a dossier in support of its claims to Islamabad in January.

The dossier includes a confession by the sole surviving gunman, satellite phone intercepts between the attackers and their handlers in Pakistan, and a list of Pakistan-made weapons used in the attacks.

Pakistan admitted this month that part of the conspiracy was planned in Pakistan and the attackers went to Mumbai by boat from Karachi. India says the admission is a positive step.
