Palestinians reacts to Peres´ choice

Palestinians closely watching the political wrangling in Israel have expressed disappointment in Peres' choice.

Many believe that a Netanyahu-led government would kill any hopes of reviving the crippled Middle East peace process.

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat expressed pessimism about the next government's potential as a partner in negotiations.

Former Palestinian Information Minister and member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Mustafa Barghouti, insisted that any government formed under the Likud leader and allies will be a government against peace.

Saeb Erakat, Chief Palestinian Negotiator, said, "We will not be in negotiations with an Israeli government that continues settlement activities, that refuses a two state solution and that doesn't accept the agreements signed."

Mustafa Barghouti, Member of Palestinian Legislative Council, said, "The fact that Netanyahu is forming the new Israeli government means that this government will be a government that is racist, a government of apartheid and a government against peace. This is the death toll to the peace process and it's a reflection of the fact that the Israeli elections have killed the possibility and option for peace based on a two state solution."
