Experts hail stimulus plan for light industry

China's State Council has approved a new stimulus plan to adjust and invigorate the country's light industry. Chinese experts say many measures in the plan will help boost domestic consumption, in urban and rural areas.

The plan has good news for farmers. Two more products,  namely microwave ovens and induction cookers, will be  added to the list of government-subsidized home appliances  for rural buyers.

More importantly, processing trade restrictions will be lifted on some products that are labor-intensive or technology-intensive as well as those that are energy-saving and environment-friendly.
