Hu: Visit to Mauritius to deepen traditional friendship

President Hu Jintao has arrived in Mauritius for a state visit aimed at enhancing bilateral ties with the African nation. This is the last leg of a five-nation tour that has been dubbed a "journey of friendship and cooperation". The tour has already taken him to Saudi Arabia, Mali, Senegal and Tanzania.

President Hu Jintao was greeted at the airport in Mauritius by Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.
In a written statement released upon his arrival, Hu Jintao said the China-Mauritius relationship has become a model of solidarity and cooperation between two developing countries.
The president says his visit will enhance mutual understanding and trust, deepen the traditional friendship and promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
