As the week-long Spring Festival holiday comes to an end, Chinese people head back to the cities for work. Railway authorities are braced for another travel peak in the week ahead.

After a short break in the flow of travelers returning home, the country's transport network is experiencing rising passenger numbers again. Beijing transport authorities estimated that more than 300,000 people would arrive in Beijing by train today. The number of in-bound train passengers has already reached its peak over the past two days
