Hu Jintao visits Jiangxi Province

In China where the holiday is well underway but, ahead of that, President Hu Jintao went to the mountain city of Jing-gang-shan. It's a cradle of the Chinese revolution and also the Red Army. He was there to wish everyone a happy Year of the Ox.

President Hu Jintao made visit of Jinggangshan City on Saturday and Sunday, the eve of the traditional Chinese lunar new year. At a local museum, Hu Jintao met with veteran members of the Red Army and their descendents ... asking them about their health. He also asked a number of model workers about their living and working conditions.

The Red Army veterans and model workers said they were encouraged that the central government always brings confidence to the people in the face of difficulties. They promised to further contribute to the country's development.

Hu Jintao, Chinese president, said, "Red Army veterans have made great contributions under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. Model workers have been working hard to develop the Jinggangshan area. The Party and the people will always remember your contributions. Currently, the party and the people are working hard to ensure fast and sustainable social development, and a moderately prosperous society. We will carry out the Jinggangshan spirit, working hard to further promote social development with Chinese characteristics. On this occasion, I wish you all a happy new year and good health "

It's a tradition to prepare special foods and other materials before the Spring Festival.

During his visit, President Hu Jintao stepped into a supermarket, where he asked about prices, sources, and the quality of products on the shelves. He urged staff in the supermarket to make people's needs a top priority, and to make efforts to ensure the quality of products, in order to expand consumption.

Crowds were delighted to see President Hu Jintao, who wished people a happy new year.

President Hu Jintao also visited a local power plant to inspect energy supplies during the holiday. He thanked people who must continue working during the festival.

Hu Jintao also toured the home of a local villager.

At Wu Jianzhong's house, Hu Jintao inquired about the family's living conditions.

President Hu Jintao was glad to hear that the Wu's family received an income of 140 thousand yuan last year.

Hu Jintao also did some cooking.
