Mainland pandas Tuantuan and Yuanyuan leave quarantine

A month has passed since two Giant Pandas from the mainland, Tuantuan and Yuanyuan, arrived in Taiwan. Their quarantine expired Wednesday.

Taipei Zoo will give the two pandas vaccines and train them for their debut on the first day of Spring Festival. The zoo said that after a final post-quarantine check-up, Tuantuan and Yuanyuan will get their quarantine certificates.

The pandas are said to be in good shape now, and the zoo plans to inoculate them against rabies and other diseases. The pandas will also receive training from zookeepers, learning how to stand up, sit down and sit still.
