The Democratic People's Republic of Korea said Tuesday that the US should drop its hostile attitude before it abandons its nuclear program.
The incoming US administration says it will continue efforts to curb the DPRK's nuclear proliferation.

The official KCNA news agency reported a spokesman as saying that when the U.S. nuclear threat is removed and South Korea is cleared of its nuclear umbrella, then the DPRK will feel no need to keep its nuclear program.
The spokesman said that it's twisted logic to assert that bilateral relations can be improved only when the DPRK shows details of its nuclear program first, and this is a distortion of the spirit of the September 19th Joint Statement.
He said the principle of "action for action" can never be an exception as far as the issue of verification is concerned, adding that the denuclearization of the South Korea should also be verified.
