Arab League Chief calls for end to Israeli airstrikes

Arab League Secretary-General, Amr Moussa, has called for an end to the Israeli airstrikes.

Moussa is expected to travel to New York over the weekend, along with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and several Arab foreign ministers.

They hope to persuade the UN Security Council to adopt an Arab draft resolution that would condemn Israel and end its bombing campaign.

Amr Moussa, Arab League Secretary-General, said, "The best way is to negotiate and the best way is to reach a deal very soon. A protracted peace process and a protracted process of talks and negotiations and contacts would lead nowhere. Now is the time to be very clear about the next step. The Palestinians must reconcile, the attacks must stop."
