Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit agreed that renewing the truce should be a priority.
Abbas added that all Palestinians hope for an end to the aggression and return to a period of calm.
Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian President, said, "We want to protect Gaza and Gaza citizens. We are against any raids of their territory. There are those who don't see a problem with Gaza being raided. But we refuse this concept because this concept will never be beneficial and will never help the citizens. We want to save every drop of blood regardless of who it belongs to."
