Daily direct chartered flights between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan are expected to start in the middle of this month.

Daily direct chartered flights between the Chinese mainland  and Taiwan are expected to start in the middle of this month.

Shenzhen Airlines has set December 15th as the date for the maiden flight. Four airlines are expected to operate the chartered flight services between Shenzhen in the southern Chinese mainland and Taiwan. Flights are to be scheduled for weekdays as well as weekends.

The cross-Strait chartered flights will reduce the time from Shenzhen to Taipei to a little over one and a half hours. And air ticket prices will be around 1,200 yuan, or some 180 US dollars.

Travel agencies on both sides of the Straits are making most of the opportunity to launch travel packages for people in the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
