Japanese nationals rescued from Mumbai terror attacks

TOKYO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Nine Japanese nationals have been rescued from two hotels in Mumbai, where they had been trapped since the outbreak of terror attacks in the Indian financial center, Kyodo News reported Saturday, citing the Japanese foreign ministry.

But Hisashi Tsuda, 38, an employee of Mitsui Marubeni Liquefied Gas Co., was pronounced dead in hospital early Thursday local time after being gunned down at the Trident-Oberoi Hotel.

On Wednesday evening, heavily armed militants launched terror attacks at the Trident-Oberoi Hotel and the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. The 60-hour terror rampage, which ended Saturday when Indian commandos killed the last three gunmen, claimed at least 195 lives, including those of 18 foreigners.
