Gore not to serve in Obama administration

Special Report: U.S.Presidential Election 2008WASHINGTON, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore won't be serving in the incoming Obama administration, his spokeswoman said Thursday.

"Former Vice President Gore does not intend to seek or accept any formal position in government," his spokeswoman Kalee Kreider told reporters.
"He feels very strong right now that the best thing for him to do is to build support for the bold changes that we have to make to solve the climate crisis," she added.
Gore, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2000 and winner of the Nobel prize for his environmental education efforts, had been rumored to be a likely candidate for the post of "climate czar" or even secretary of state under President-elect Obama.
